Emerald have been working incredibly hard in all subjects this week. We have continued our work on place value in Maths and started to think about how numbers are organised on a number line. The children have been continuing to learn cricket skills on a Wednesday afternoon with Mr Bull and started to think about coding in Computing.
Homework has been sent home this evening. This is due on Monday of next week.
Emerald will be performing ‘Conkers’ as part of our Harvest service. We have been practicing this in school, however the words and song are attached below for your child to practice at home in preparation.
Finally, please could names be written into your child’s school coat. Now it is winter, should your child misplace their coat, we want to ensure the right coat goes home with the right child.
Here is the link to the short information videos that we had a bit of trouble loading onto the iPads in last week’s science lesson. As we missed Monday this week, it would be great if you have a few minutes spare over the weekend to refresh your memory with some of these clips before our next lesson.
Please could all uniform be checked as we appear to have some children with some missing uniform – all uniform was named by us if the children’s uniform was not already named.
A quick reminder that tomorrow is Jeans for Genes Day. The children can wear their jeans with non-uniform if they bring £1 to support Jeans for Genes.
This week PE will begin for Emerald class. This will be on a Tuesday and Wednesday each week.
On PE days children should come into school wearing their PE kits. These should be:
black shorts (in colder weathers plain black tracksuits can be worn)
plain white polo shirt without a logo
plimsolls or trainers
white socks
School jumpers are not part of the PE kit.
Don’t forget about our exhibition of our work from our book, ‘Journey.’ This exhibition will take place on Thursday in the KS2 hall between 3:00 and 3:30pm.
Because we are studying our whole school text, ‘Journey’ this week, there will be no PE this week. It will resume next week and I will send out details later this week confirming the days when it will take place.
Myself, Miss Harding and Mrs Daniels are really looking forward to welcoming you back to St Edmund’s today. We will be looking at our whole school text this week ‘Journey.’ I have attached a video link of the book, in case you would like to have a look at it this week.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can help with anything.
Mr Ledger, Miss Harding and Mrs Daniels
